Elan Ravenscroft is a Dragon Knight and his father’s heir apparent. He is a battle-tested warrior and ready to defend his family and the Crimson Coven in his father’s name. He expected battle and danger when he accepted his father’s assignment to the Crimson Coven, but he did not expect to find himself face to face with his fated mate in the midst of war. He doesn’t know if he can handle both. He doesn’t know if their bond can survive an all-out paranormal war, but if he doesn’t want to lose the love of his life he has to learn to trust fate’s timing and accept the things that he cannot change.
Sorin Cuza is quiet. He is not the type of man who wears what he’s feeling on his sleeve. Sorin is a born and bred warrior determined to protect his adopted home. Crimson took him in and never made him feel like anything but family. When he meets Elan Ravenscroft, his will is tested, and his heart is nearly broken. Can Sorin and Elan piece their bond back together or will it be destroyed by the conflict raging around them? Will their love survive? Will Crimson?
War has come to Crimson’s doorstep. The actions of the Vampire Council have pushed the paranormal world to the brink of disaster, and only The Crimson Coven and its allies now stand in Fane Minea’s path. No one will escape this unscathed

I couldn't bring myself to downgrade because I didn't like how certain characters acted. First of all, Elan hurt Sorin so bad. So so very bad. I mean, imagine the one person that is supposed to love and want you beyond anything and they presumably reject you.Wow. Just wow. My heart hurt so bad for Sorin and I wanted to kick Elan's @ss and make him suffer. I want Elan to suffer like Sorin did...no, I wanted him to suffer more. I didn't want Sorin to give instant forgiveness and I was beyond pissed that Elan received it.
BUT then I realized I was projecting my hurt onto these characters...that I was still hurting by Elan's perceived rejection and that I wanted, no needed Elan to suffer more. But that didn't happen. Elan was forgiven almost instantly and for the life of me I couldn't understand why.
And then...eureka! Haha. Of course he was forgiven. Why would Elan's chosen/mate not want him? Did not Sorin pine for him whilst he was gone? Did not Sorin hope with the smallest amount of hope (even though he thought there was not any hope left) that just maybe the one person in all of existence for him wanted him too? Sorin's a kind and wonderful person (did not Elan find that out whilst they were separated?) and of course he forgave his chosen. He still wanted his chosen. He needed Elan. And ultimately Elan needed him too...it just took him getting his head out of his @ss.
Elan...I forgive you. I doubt I would have been able to make you suffer. I would've probably forgiven you instantly too. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is eternal...and I couldn't dock any stars off this amazing book because there wasn't more suffering. It was perfect. So very perfect.

The Dragon Knight The Crimson War The Crimson Coven Book 12 edition by BA Stretke Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I just finished all 12 books in the series and they were all fantastic. The stories were incredible. I'm a h huge fan!
I hope to read out the two Dragon knights mates and if Sorin is pregnant. Love the characters and stories of this author.
Great story book to read
Although the books in this series might be a short read than other books, it is exactly the right amount for this series. Each book leaves you craving for the next. I love all the characters and love how fate found the right person for each of them.
Elan and Sorin found out that they are fated mates just as there is a war with the vampire counsel , through miss understanding and fate wielding her hand they finally came together.
Fane Minea has been a plague and a menace throughout this entire series and this book proved to be his greatest attack on the Crimson Coven, as well as his greatest mistake. He was crazy, and he gathered crazy and greed around him. It's sad, and always a bit amazing, how much someone will ignore the crazy to focus on the greed.
Elan and Sorin were good characters, but I felt no particular connection to either of them. I was much more interested in the overarching story than in their romance.
I really didn't enjoy how the relationship between Elan, and Sorin had started out. Sorin was rejected before they could even speak to each other and I'm tired of reading about the mistreatment of a mate, leaving him to feel so hurt and unworthy by his chosen. So not my favorite part of the story. ( The war was compelling, with a little twist of deceit that had gone on, and I love the fate of Fane Minea. Very satisfying! I found that the Demon Lord, Nael, was helpful and a bit amusing himself. Excellently done. =)
